Week in Review 1/7-10

 

Bible- Stewardship/ No Verse

Social Studies-We will take a break from Social Studies while learning about rocks and soil.

Science-   Introduction to chapter 7, rocks and soil. How do rocks form?

     Vocabulary:  mineral, rock, sedimentary rock, igneous rock, metamorphic rock, decay, soil, loam and nutrient

Spelling- Unit 19/Test on Friday  There will not be any roots to learn this week.

Reading- We are learning about the elements of nonfiction.  The students will receive a reading contract for a nonfiction book that will be completed in class over the next few weeks.  The students may have to read some of the nonfiction book for homework but most of it will be done at school.

English- Review of sentences with compounds, pronouns, fragments and run-on sentences

Math-  Chapter 12- Fractions  We are skipping forward a few chapters.  The students will learn what a fractions is, how to compare fractions and what are equivalent fractions this week.
